Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. Announces Community Leadership Course for Veterans XIII Cohort

Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. (LPInc.) is proud to announce its thirteenth Community Leadership Course for Veterans™ (CLCV™) cohort. For the next few months, the CLCV™ program will engage 29 current and former military service members, representing a variety of United States military branches. CLCV XIII represents the largest cohort since the CLCV™ program’s inception in 2013.

Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to developing a diverse group of leaders to serve Southwestern Pennsylvania. LPInc. produces programming, partnerships, and connections through cohort-based programs, executive networking, nonprofit board matching, and a robust, cross-disciplinary, multi-generational alumni network. Core programs educate executive-level leaders, high-performing professionals, and current or former military service members. These programs serve as benchmarks across the country and have inspired other organizations within the region.

Specifically, the Community Leadership Course for Veterans™ (CLCV™) is a nationally recognized program that leverages the skills and experiences of current or former military service members for the betterment of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Through participation in the program, CLCV™ cohort members have the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of our region, meet with business and community leaders, and utilize their leadership skills to accomplish a project in partnership with a local nonprofit organization. CLCV™ provides participants with the exposure, experiences, and connections that prepare them to tackle the challenges of our community. Sessions, approximately every 2 weeks, cover topics such as corporate landscape, nonprofit landscape, history of Pittsburgh, networking, and more. The knowledge and associations obtained through CLCV™ provide committed participants access to the platforms needed to take on civilian leadership roles within Southwestern Pennsylvania communities.

In 2013, LPInc. was invited by local philanthropies to play a role in the regional veterans’ initiative. Recognizing the largely untapped leadership potential of returning military service members, LPInc. launched the CLCV™. Thus, the CLCV™ program is designed for current and former military service members to broaden their understanding of the region and build deeper connections to Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The kick-off of the thirteenth CLCV™ cohort will be held in April with a reception hosted at K&L Gates.
