HARVARD YOUNG AMERICAN LEADERS

Every summer, Harvard Business School invites leaders to work together and help communities thrive.

Where do American cities stand today in terms of U.S. competitiveness and shared prosperity, and how can leaders collaborate across sectors to ensure a brighter future for all?

To explore crucial questions like this, a cohort of Pittsburgh leaders, many of them LPInc. Alumni, are identified annually by invitation-only as representatives of our region to attend The Harvard Young American Leaders Program (YALP).

At Harvard Business School, these representatives work side-by-side with national leaders to explore cutting-edge, cross-sector solutions to pressing regional and national issues. Over 100 delegates from fourteen cities represent business, education, government, healthcare, nonprofits (and more) over four intensive days of learning and leadership.

Participants engage in dialogue with Harvard faculty and critically examined case studies from similar populations across the nation. Delegates at the YALP program are eager to work across traditional boundaries to help their communities thrive. After their experience on Harvard’s campus, the cohort is encouraged to apply what they have learned to the Pittsburgh region.
